Although epidemiological measures introduced to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic became even more complex in October 2020, the industrial production in the Republic of Croatia increased at the annual level. The total working-day adjusted industrial production thus increased by 2.8% compared to October 2019. At the monthly level, compared to September 2020, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial production increased by 2.9%.
The increase was recorded in two out of five aggregates of the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009.). The largest increase in industrial production was recorded in Intermediate goods (AI), of 8.6%, in section 27 Manufacture of electrical equipment, of 31.4%, followed by Capital goods (BB), of 7.9%, in section 25 Manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, of 23.6%.
Observing the NKD 2007. sections, of a total of 28 sections included in the calculation of the industrial production volume index, industrial production decreased the most in section 19 Manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, by 25.4%, and in section 14 Manufacture of wearing apparel, by 18.5%.
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates for the industrial production volume index was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within sections B, C and D (05.1 – 35.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations:
