The working-day adjusted industrial production in January 2023 decreased by 2.8% compared to the same month of the previous year, indicating a slowdown in the recovery of the economy from the corona crisis. Compared to December 2022, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial production increased by 0.9%.
By looking at the annual growth rates according to the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009), industrial production decreased in four out of five aggregates. The largest decrease was recorded in Intermediate goods (AI), of 8.3%, particularly in division 20 Manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, of 36.7%. This is followed by Energy (AE), with a decrease of 8.1%, Durable consumer goods (CD), with a decrease of 6.9%, and Non-durable consumer goods (CN), with a decrease of 0.9%.
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates for the industrial production volume index was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within divisions B, C and D (05.1 – 35.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations:
