Despite the fact that epidemiological measures introduced to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic did not subside in April 2021, industrial production in the Republic of Croatia increased at the annual level. The total working-day adjusted industrial production increased by 17.3% compared to April 2020, while at the monthly level, compared to March 2021, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial turnover decreased by 2.1%.
According the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009.), the increase was present in all five aggregates, observing annual rates of change. The largest increase, of 138.7%, was recorded in Durable consumer goods (CD). They were followed by Intermediate goods (AI), which increased by 19.5%, Energy (AE), by 18.0%, Capital goods (BB), by 14.1%, and Non-durable consumer goods (CN), which increased by 11.0%.
Observing the NKD 2007. divisions, of a total of 28 divisions included in the calculation of the industrial production volume index, 20 divisions recorded an increase. The largest increase was recorded in division 31 Manufacture of furniture, of 129.3%. The increase was also noticeable in division 29 Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, of 67.3%, division 11 Manufacture of beverages, of 53.3%, and in division 15 Manufacture of leather and related products, of 51.5%.
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates for the industrial production volume index was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within divisions B, C and D (05.1 – 35.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations:
Al Intermediate goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 07 – 09, 10.6, 10.9, 13.1 – 13.3, 16, 17, 20.1 – 20.3, 20.5, 20.6, 22 – 24, 25.5 – 25.7, 25.9, 26.1, 26.8, 27.1 – 27.4 and 27.9
AE Energy: the NKD 2007. divisions: 05, 06, 19 and 35 (excluding 35.3)
BB Capital goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 25.1 – 25.4, 26.2, 26.3, 26.5, 26.6, 28, 29, 30.1 – 30.4, 32.5 and 33
CD Consumer durables: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 26.4, 26.7, 27.5, 30.9, 31, 32.1 and 32.2
CN Consumer non-durables: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 10.1 – 10.5, 10.7, 10.8, 11, 12, 13.9, 14, 15, 18, 20.4, 21, 32.3, 32.4 and 32.9.
