With the gradual easing and mitigation of epidemiological measures introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, the industrial production in the Republic of Croatia, working-day adjusted, increased by 15.8% in May 2021 compared to May 2020. Compared to April 2021, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial production decreased by 2.0%.
The increase was recorded in all five aggregates of the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009.), observing annual growth rates. The largest increase was recorded in Durable consumer goods (CD), of 36.0%, namely in division 31 Manufacture of furniture (+37.5%). The increase was also recorded in the following aggregates: Capital goods (BB), of 22.6%, Intermediate goods (AI), of 20.5%, Non-durable consumer goods (CN), of 13.0%, and Energy (AE), of 2.5%.
Of a total of 28 divisions of the NKD 2007. included in the calculation of the industrial production volume index, in May 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year, industrial production increased in 24 divisions. The highest increase was recorded in division 29 Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, of 201.5%.
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates for the industrial production volume index was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within divisions B, C and D (05.1 – 35.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations:
Al Intermediate goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 07 – 09, 10.6, 10.9, 13.1 – 13.3, 16, 17, 20.1 – 20.3, 20.5, 20.6, 22 – 24, 25.5 – 25.7, 25.9, 26.1, 26.8, 27.1 – 27.4 and 27.9
AE Energy: the NKD 2007. divisions: 05, 06, 19 and 35 (excluding 35.3)
BB Capital goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 25.1 – 25.4, 26.2, 26.3, 26.5, 26.6, 28, 29, 30.1 – 30.4, 32.5 and 33
