In August 2020, as compared to July 2020, the total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial production in the Republic of Croatia decreased by 1.1%, while compared to August of the previous year, the working-day adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.2%. Despite the loosening of measures introduced to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, industrial production decreased at the annual and monthly level.
The decrease is present in two out of five aggregates of the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009.). The largest decrease was recorded in Non-durable consumer goods (CD), of 5.1%, mostly in sections 11 Manufacture of beverages (of 24.2%) and 14 Manufacture of wearing apparel (of 16.9%), while the largest increase was recorded in Capital goods (BB), of 4.5%.
Observing the NKD 2007. sections, of a total of 28 sections included in the calculation of the index, the highest increase in the industrial production volume was recorded in sections 21 Manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (of 20.4%) and 30 Manufacture of other transport equipment (of 33.7%).
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates for the industrial production volume index was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within sections B, C and D (05.1 – 35.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations:
Al Intermediate goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 07 – 09, 10.6, 10.9, 13.1 – 13.3, 16, 17, 20.1 – 20.3, 20.5, 20.6, 22 – 24, 25.5 – 25.7, 25.9, 26.1, 26.8, 27.1 – 27.4 and 27.9
AE Energy: the NKD 2007. divisions: 05, 06, 19 and 35 (excluding 35.3)
BB Capital goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 25.1 – 25.4, 26.2, 26.3, 26.5, 26.6, 28, 29, 30.1 – 30.4, 32.5 and 33
CD Consumer durables: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 26.4, 26.7, 27.5, 30.9, 31, 32.1 and 32.2
