The total seasonally and working-day adjusted industrial turnover in the Republic of Croatia in April 2020, as compared to March 2020, decreased by 19.9%.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, numerous measures have been introduced to prevent the spread of the disease. It affected the decrease in industrial turnover in four (out of five) aggregates of the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009.).
The largest decrease of 33.0% (according to GIGs 2009.) was recorded in Durable consumer goods (CD), mostly in the manufacture of furniture section. Non-durable consumer goods (CN) decreased by 19.8%, which was mostly affected by the decrease in turnover in the following sections: manufacture of food products, manufacture of beverages, manufacture of tobacco products, manufacture of wearing apparel, manufacture of leather and related products, and manufacture of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations.
Other aggregates also recorded a decrease, of 9.6% in Intermediate goods (AI) and of 17.2% in Capital goods (BB).
An increase (of 15.5%) was recorded only in Energy (AE), due to the increase in industrial turnover in the section manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products.
A similar decrease was recorded on the domestic (-18.0%) and non-domestic market (-17.1%).
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within sections B and C (05.1 – 33.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations, was done as follows:
Al Intermediate goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 07 – 09, 10.6, 10.9, 13.1 – 13.3, 16, 17, 20.1 – 20.3, 20.5, 20.6, 22 – 24, 25.5 – 25.7, 25.9, 26.1, 26.8, 27.1 – 27.4 and 27.9
AE Energy: the NKD 2007. divisions: 05, 06 and 19
BB Capital goods: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 25.1 – 25.4, 26.2, 26.3, 26.5, 26.6, 28, 29, 30.1 – 30.4, 32.5 and 33
CD Consumer durables: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 26.4, 26.7, 27.5, 30.9, 31, 32.1 and 32.2
CN Consumer non-durables: the NKD 2007. divisions and groups: 10.1 – 10.5, 10.7, 10.8, 11, 12, 13.9, 14, 15, 18, 20.4, 21, 32.3, 32.4 and 32.9.
