In April 2021, the total working-day adjusted industrial turnover increased by 40.6% compared to April of the previous year, when the Republic of Croatia was among the countries with the strictest restrictions and measures aimed at reducing the coronavirus infection. In April 2020, numerous measures were introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including the closure of state borders and the complete or partial closure of factories, while the measures were much milder in April 2021, which led to an increase in turnover on the domestic market of 28.9% and on the non-domestic market of 58.1% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The increase in sales income was present in all of the five aggregates. According to the Main Industrial Groupings (MIGs 2009), the largest increase, of 124.5%, was recorded in Durable consumer goods (CD), followed by Capital goods (BB), of 85.5%, Energy (AE), of 79.3%, Intermediate goods (AI), of 33.2%, and Non-durable consumer goods (CN), of 16.8%.
The calculation of the MIGs 2009. aggregates was done by grouping of the NKD 2007. activities at the level of groups or divisions within sections B and C (05.1 – 33.2) as follows, using alphabetic marks of abbreviations, was done as follows:
