Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on socioeconomic indicators



According to provisional data, there were 2 505 marriages in August 2022, which was an increase of 15.5%, that is, there were 336 more marriages compared to the five-year average (2015 − 2019) for the same month.

Observing the period since the COVID-19 epidemic was officially declared in the Republic of Croatia, the number of marriages decreased by 12.4% in the period from March 2020 to August 2022 compared to the five-year average for the same period, that is, there were 6 371 less marriages.

The graph shows data on the number of marriages by months from January 2020 to August 2022 and the average number of marriages for the period 2015 − 2019 by months. Data for 2022 are provisional.
