FOREIGN VESSELS ON CRUISE IN THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA (JANUARY − DECEMBER 2021)

Foreign vessels on cruise, which started arriving in seaports in June 2021, continued to arrive in the Croatian Adriatic in December 2021.

In the period from January to December 2021, there were 36 foreign vessels on cruise that arrived in Croatian seaports, which realised 208 journeys and stayed for 568 days in Croatia.

Compared to the same period of 2020, the number of journeys of foreign vessels on cruise increased by 182 journeys and the number of their sojourns by 444 days.

There were 194 thousand passengers on foreign vessels on cruise in 2021, which is a large increase, considering that there were only four thousand of them in 2020.

Foreign vessels on cruise sailed under the flags of 11 countries in 2021. The largest number of journeys of foreign vessels on cruise was realised under the flag of Panama (68 journeys), followed by journeys under the flags of Malta (32 journeys) and Bahamas (29 journeys).

The majority of visits of foreign vessels on cruise were realised in the seaport of Dubrovnik (160 visits), followed by the seaports of Split (105 visits), Korčula (57 visits), Šibenik (43 visits) and Hvar (41 visits).

Compared to 2019, the number of journeys of foreign vessels on cruise decreased by 71.3%, the total number of sojourns by 61.3% and the number of passengers on board those vessels by 82.7%.
