In October 2022, the real working-day adjusted turnover of retail trade in the Republic of Croatia decreased at the annual level, by 0.4%, compared to the same month of the previous year. This turnover was 5.9% higher than in October 2019. In October 2022, at the monthly level, the seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 1.7% lower than in the previous month.
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover increased by 15.6% in nominal terms in October 2022, compared to the same month of the previous year. Ten out of eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover, with the largest one being recorded in the following trade branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 30.1%), Other non-specialised stores (of 17.4%) and Specialised stores with food, beverages and tobacco (of 15.8%). The turnover decreased only in one trade branch − Retail sale via Internet (by 7.5%).
In October 2022, as compared to October 2019, the nominal retail trade turnover increased by 27.3%, with the largest increase being recorded in the following trade branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 44.8%), Non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (of 35.1%) and Computer equipment, books, newspapers and other (of 33.8%).
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover decreased by 4.9% in nominal terms in October 2022 compared to the previous month. The turnover decreased in ten out of eleven trade branches, with the largest decrease being recorded in the following trade branches: Retail sale via Internet (of 16.3%), Other non-store retail sale (of 15.4%), Non-specialised stores with food predominating (of 7.7%) and Specialised stores with food, beverages and tobacco (of 7.7%). An increase in the retail trade turnover was present only in the trade branch Electrical household appliances, furniture and other household articles (of 0.9%).
In October 2022, as compared to the previous month, the turnover of retail sale via Internet decreased by 16.3%.
