Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on socioeconomic indicators

In April 2020, as compared to the same month of the previous year, according to gross, unadjusted indices, an increase was recorded only in the turnover of retail sale via Internet, of 19.8%, while all other trade branches recorded a decrease.

The largest impact on the decrease in the nominal turnover in April 2020, as compared to the same month of the previous year, was realised by the retail trade of automotive fuels and lubricants, with a fall in turnover of 39.4% and with an impact on the total turnover of 5.8%.

In April 2020, as compared to the previous month, according to gross, unadjusted indices, the highest decrease in nominal turnover was recorded in trade branch Textile, clothing and footwear, of as much as 67.0%.

The retail sale via Internet recorded an increase in turnover of as much as 48.9% compared to March 2020.
