In April 2022, the real working-day adjusted turnover of retail trade in the Republic of Croatia increased at the annual level, by 5.7%, compared to the same month of the previous year, thus increasing continuously since February 2021, when it decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This turnover was 5.9% higher than in April 2019.
In April 2022, at the monthly level, the seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 0.3% higher compared to the previous month.
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover increased by 20.3% in nominal terms in April 2022 compared to the same month of the previous year. All eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover, with the largest one being recorded in Textile, clothing and footwear (of 49.4%), Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 34.8%), Non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (of 27.2%) and Electrical household appliances, furniture and other household articles (of 20.1%).
In April 2022, as compared to April 2019, the nominal retail trade turnover also increased by 20.3%, with the largest increase being recorded in trade branches Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 42.0%), Non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (of 34.3%), Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 26.0%) and Electrical household appliances, furniture and other household articles (of 24.2%).
In April 2022, as compared to the previous month, according to gross, unadjusted indices, seven of eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover. The largest increase in turnover was recorded in trade branches Textile, clothing and footwear (of 32.3%), Non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (of 11.9%) and Specialised stores with food products (of 7.6%).
In April 2022 compared to the previous month, the turnover of retail sale via internet increased by 2.6%.
