In June 2022, the real working-day adjusted turnover of retail trade in the Republic of Croatia increased at the annual level, by 3.8%, compared to the same month in 2021, which is in line with a continuous growth that began in February 2021, after the decrease due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Compared to June 2019, it increased by 7.9%.
In June 2022, at the monthly level, the seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 1.0% lower than in the previous month.
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover increased by 19.6% in nominal terms in June 2022, compared to the same month of the previous year. Nine out of eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover, with the largest one being recorded in the following branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 41.2%), Other non-store retail sale (of 30.1%) and Specialised stores with food predominating (of 20.4%). The turnover decreased in two trade branches, and they were Motor vehicles, parts and accessories (by 0.8%) and Retail trade via Internet (by 31.8%).
In June 2022, as compared to June 2019, the nominal retail trade turnover increased by 27.2%, with the largest increase being recorded in the following trade branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 45.5%), Non-specialised stores with non-food predominating (of 36.9%) and Other non-store retail sale (of 31.8%).
In June 2022, as compared to the previous month, according to gross, unadjusted indices, seven out of eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover. The largest increase in turnover was realised in the following trade branches: Other non-store retail sale (of 25.2%), Non-specialised stores with food products predominating (of 16.1%) and Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 14.0%). The largest decrease in retail trade turnover was observed in the trade branch Computer equipment, books and other (by 5.8%).
In June 2022, as compared to the previous month, the turnover of retail sale via Internet decreased by as much as 5.1%.
