RETAIL TRADE, SEPTEMBER 2022
In September 2022, the real working-day adjusted turnover of retail trade in the Republic of Croatia increased at the annual level, by 0.4%, compared to the same month of the previous year. This turnover was 6.6% higher than in September 2019. In September 2022, at the monthly level, the seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 0.1% lower compared to the previous month.
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover increased by 16.2% in nominal terms in September 2022, compared to the same month of the previous year. Ten out of eleven trade branches recorded an increase in turnover, with the largest one being recorded in the following trade branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 23.0%), Motor vehicles, parts and accessories for motor vehicles (of 22.3%) and Textile, clothing and footwear (of 21.7%). The turnover decreased only in one trade branch − Retail sale via Internet (by 0.6%).
In September 2022, as compared to September 2019, the nominal retail trade turnover increased by 28.5%, with the largest increase being recorded in the following trade branches: Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 39.4%), Non-specialised stores with non-food products predominating (of 32.7%) and Computer equipment, books, newspapers and other (of 31.3%).
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover decreased by 12.5% in nominal terms in September 2022 compared to the previous month. The turnover decreased in seven out of eleven trade branches, with the largest decrease being recorded in the following trade branches: Other non-store retail sale (of 26.9%), Non-specialised stores with food predominating (of 22.0%) and Automotive fuels and lubricants (of 17.3%). The largest increase in retail trade turnover was realised in trade branch Motor vehicles, parts and accessories for motor vehicles (of 15.4%).
In September 2022, as compared to the previous month, the turnover of retail sale via Internet decreased by 15.0%.
