Hunting

NOTES ON METHODOLOGY

Sources and methods of data collection

Until 2005, the data on hunting were collected using the regular Annual Report on Hunting, Trapping and Wildlife Management (LOV-11 report).

Since 2006, the data have been taken over from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Directorate of Forestry, Hunting and Wood Industry, which has taken charge of keeping the records on the management of hunting grounds and game. The management includes breeding, protection, hunting and usage of game and its parts.

Data on the number of hunters are taken over from the Croatian Hunting Federation and they include the total number of hunters (members of associations and hunters-in-training).

Data on hunting are taken over from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Directorate of Forestry, Hunting and Wood Industry and the Croatian Hunting Federation for the period from 1 April of the current year to 31 March of the following year (hunting year).
