NOTES ON METHODOLOGY

The basis for the calculation of data on dwelling stock and dwellings for permanent residence at the end of the year consists of data from the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in 2021, to which the number of dwellings built in the current year is added, while the number of dwellings excluded from the dwelling stock because of demolition or conversion into non-residential area is subtracted.

It should be noted that it is possible that some errors have occurred in the calculation of the data on dwelling stock in the intercensal period due to insufficient data sources on demolished dwellings, lack of records on abandoned dilapidated dwellings that can no longer be used for residence as well as due to changes in the purpose of a dwelling (e.g., if it is used as a non -residential area).

The stated reasons lead to a deflection from the actual condition of the dwelling stock that will be determined only in the next census.
