Short description of the project (operation):
The Croatian Bureau of Statistics, as a national statistical authority, is obliged to adhere to the principle of Cost effectiveness, one of the principles of the European Statistics Code of Practice, the basic common quality framework of the European Statistical System.
By introducing the cost estimation system for statistical processes and products, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics will obtain a tool that will enable them to manage available human and other resources (i.e. budgetary funds) more rationally as well as to strengthen their administrative capacity and increase efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Using this system, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics will obtain quality data that will enable them to allocate their resources, find savings in business and determine priorities for improvement. Thus, they will be able to establish a quality basis for analysis and making business-related decisions.

Project (operation) objectives and expected results:
By introducing the cost estimation system statistical processes and products, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics strives to establish a well-founded basis for analysis and making business-related decisions, decisions on statistical products, decisions on improving certain statistical processes and products and, ultimately, achieving the overall objective of the operation, that is, enhancing institutional capacity and efficiency of public administration. This system will enable the Croatian Bureau of Statistics to meet the obligations and requests of the European Commission – Eurostat more easily and accurately.
