In November 2002 the total
retail prices (including seasonal products) decreased by 0.3%, in comparison
with the previous month. As compared to November 2001, retail prices
increased by 2.0%, and compared to December 2001 by 2.2%. The retail prices of goods decreased in November
2002 by 0.2% and those of services by 0.7%, as compared to October 2002. Such change in retail prices in November 2002, as
compared to October 2002, is the result of a decrease in prices of industrial
products by 0.2% in the - total, within which the prices of noon-food
industrial products decreased by 0.5%. At the same time, as compared to
October 2002, prices of industrial food products and prices of tobacco
remained unchanged, while prices of beverages increased by 0.8%. The retail
prices of agricultural products including seasonal products increased in
November 2002 by 3.3% and without seasonal products by 0.8%, as compared to October
2002. The prices of services in November 2002 decreased
by 0.7%, as compared to October 2002, within which prices of transport,
postal and telecommunication services decreased by 1.5% (lower prices in
passenger transport by air). At the same time, as compared to October 2002,
prices of social welfare services increased by 0.4% and prices of craft
services by 0.1%. |

Retail prices of
industrial and agricultural products and services are monitored by county
state administration offices in the counties - statistical offices in
selected cities. Price indices are calculated on the basis of index lists of
products and services and adequate weights.
