The term 'production under contract with principal' denotes a production under contract with principal who supplies his or her own row materials and other production inputs free of charge to contractor (producer) who actually produces the product (or services) on behalf of the principal. Both the production under contract with the principal and the production value must always be reported by a contractor (producer) in a county or a country in which the production actually took place in order to avoid the duplication of data. Regarding the production value, the producer always presents only the compensation value contracted with the principal for the work done. According to the PRODCOM statistics methodology, the principal and the contractor/producer must work for different enterprises.

NIP code and unit of measure

Product codes of the NIP marked with 'S' are aggregated product codes, identical with the EU PRODCOM List codes. They equal the sum of all 10-digit NIP product codes accompanying the same measuring unit, which are identical at the 8-digit level, while the 9th and 10th digits differ because of a different national breakdown.

Indicator

Unit value in euro

Unit value is defined as an average price per individual product. It is calculated by using a formula, that is, by dividing the value of production sold by quantities multiplied by 1 000.
