Due to the gradual cancellation of epidemiological measures introduced to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic, in June 2020, the decline in the real turnover of retail trade slowed down at the annual level, and compared to the same month of the previous year, working-day adjusted retail trade turnover decreased by 6.2%.
In June 2020, at the monthly level, the seasonally and working-day adjusted retail trade turnover was in real terms 2.9% higher compared to the previous month.
According to gross, unadjusted indices, the total retail trade turnover decreased by 6.3% in nominal terms in June 2020 compared to the same month of the previous year. The largest decrease in turnover was realised by the following trade branches: Other non-store retail sale, of 27.0%, and Automotive fuels and lubricants, of 22.8%.
In June 2020, as compared to the previous month, according to gross, unadjusted indices, there was an increase in turnover in all trade branches. The largest increase in turnover was realised in trade branches Textile, clothing and footwear, of 54.1%, and Motor vehicles, parts and accessories for motor vehicles, of 32.0%.
After the decrease in May 2020, the turnover of retail sale via Internet again increased in June 2020.
